Cedexis Launches Fusion which Unites All Their Big Data Streams

Cedexis, a major Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that optimizes web performance across data centers, content delivery networks (CDNs) and clouds for companies, announced the release of their Cedexis Fusion API.

The new API “should enable the company to take load balancing across clouds to a new level,” as commented on GigaOm, and “help alleviate operational headaches for enterprise customers.”

Fusion compliments the previously released Radar API, a crowd-sourced real end user Cloud and CDN performance measurement data. Together, they provide comprehensive visibility into Big Data metrics on all the application, server, platform and network elements. This enables a real-time insight into when an application or server is approaching exhaustion and needs an overhaul. In turn, e-commerces can more easily decrease the load time of their web pages, increase revenue, and not lose visitors due to delays and troubleshoots.

“Cedexis Fusion is more than a data aggregator. It is the point of convergence of all the real time Big Data streams that feed our cloud-based global load balancer – Cedexis Openmix. Fusion customers have a single place to define how they wish to detect and avoid Internet congestion and service disruptions to achieve 100% service availability,” said Greg Unrein, VP of Product Management of Cedexis, in the press release.

The Openmix platform acts as a cloud load balancer that distributes workload across multiple servers or data centers, network links, central processing units, disk drives on the cloud. In such way, overload of resources is more successfully avoided, and throughput of the data is maximized.

Fusion also mixes with New Relic and AppDynamics application performance monitoring software; as well as Akamai, Level3, Edgecast and ChinaCache CDNs; SoftLayer’s server management data. This makes Big Data real-time actionable, and the whole process of improving the overall website performance, far more automatized. Cedexis champions in such third party data integration, devising the load balancing method across different clouds. End users can, thus, balance traffic to the most available, best performing or least costs-for-performance resources.

In addition, Cedexis customers may use Cedexis Fusion Custom to automate the ingestion of private data streams from any HTTP source, any private measurements they take of their own systems.

Shared Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans (SPs) have been a common workaround for reducing EC2 costs, but their value has always been limited. For IT and DevOps teams, the trade-offs include added complexity, […]
